CHRISTIAN SWINBURNE

Christian qualified as a solicitor in 1996 having trained in Chester-le-Street, and moved to Gateshead where he has practised ever since. His family have practiced Law in Gateshead since 1793 and he is the sixth generation of his family to do so. He has worked at Mulcahy Smith since 2014 and has been a partner at Mulcahy Smith since 2021.

 

Starting as a General Practitioner he undertook Civil litigation work for many years before specialising in Private Client work including Property and Estates work and looking after the needs of individuals in relation to the Preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Deputyships, Tax Planning, Probate and the Administration of Affairs and Estates.

He is also the firm's supervisor.

Christian feels very much part of Gateshead and greatly enjoys helping Gateshead people with their needs and problems.

 

As well as practising as a Solicitor, Christian has been Trustee of the Genesis Trust, Journey, Newcastle City Centre Chaplaincy, Friends of Ushaw, Ampleforth Abbey Trading, Emily Matilda Easton Benefaction and many other small charitable trusts and institutions. He was also Area Representative of The Solicitors’ Charity formerly the Solicitors’ Benevolent Association.

 

Christian is married with three children and when he is not looking after his client's needs he looks after the needs of his family as well as his sheep, goats, cats, dogs, chickens and peacocks.
