Gerard joined the firm in 1978 and is now the sole principal in the firm having formerly been in partnership since 1986. Gerard handles all aspects of property work including commercial and residential conveyancing.
He has vast experience in dealing with civil litigation work, especially claims against negligent solicitors and surveyors, partnership and employment disputes and breach of contract cases.
Gerard also oversees the Wills and probate department and handles all aspects of Will disputes. He also regularly advises in Court of Protection matters.
Gerard also deals with complex family financial provision cases following divorce.
Christian qualified in 1996 having trained in Chester-le-Street, and moved to Gateshead where he has practised ever since.
Starting as a General Practitioner he undertook Civil litigation work for many years before specialising in Private Client work including Property and Estates work and looking after the needs of individuals in relation to the Preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Deputyships, Tax Planning and the Administration of Affairs and Estates.
As well as practising as a Solicitor, Christian is President of Gateshead CAB/Community Legal Advice Centre, Vice-Chair of Age UK Gateshead, Trustee of Nunnykirk School for Dyslexia, Trustee of the Genesis Trust and Patron of Daybreak. He is an Area Representative of the Solicitors Benevolent Association and he is also a trustee of many other small charitable institutions.
Christian is married with three children and when he is not looking after his client's needs he looks after those of his family as well as his pigs, chickens and peacocks.
